The best way to experience Guam is to start 4,500 years ago and be guided by our living legends.
Ulitao Experiences to Come
As you are reading this, Ulitao and the Valley of the Latte are developing a brand new way for everyone to truly be immersed in the rich cultural heritage of Guam. Soon you will be able to take hold of a paddle alongside our Ulitao members and become a part of our island's seafaring history.
When you step onto the dock of the Talofofo river, you are transported back through over 4,000 years as members of Ulitao welcome you onto a traditional canoe. The adventure continues as you are coasting down the river and are immersed in the history of the area, the traditional techniques used to build the canoe, the types of trees that are used in the creation of your craft, and the care and knowledge of your Ulitao guides.
Ulitao is a passionate group of Guam islanders working to revive, preserve, and grow the Chamorro's ancient seafaring traditions. They skillfully craft every canoe using local resources and traditional techniques. Their home at the Valley of the Latte will provide a deeply felt experience of the living history of our island.
